John Pinckney Arledge Family in Front of the Boxwood Inn


This photo was taken around 1912 of the John Pinckney (J.P.) and Lizzie Ann Arledge family of Columbus, NC, on the front porch of the hotel they ran (the Boxwood Inn). First row from left are the Isaac Curtis Arledge family, the Walker Arledge family, the John Aden Arledge family. Second row are the William Berry Arledge family, Rebecca Waldrop Arledge (widow of Green Berry Arledge), J.P. and Lizzie Ann, and Minnie. Third row is the Dr. Chivous Bostic family (Mossie), the Jim Shipman family (Sally) and young bachelors Ray, Roone (Sr.) and Yates Arledge. My grandfather, Jack Arledge, is the toddler in the lower right hand corner.
