ALDRIDGE Family
I am Teresa (b. 05/1977, Longview,TX), oldest of six desendants of William Henry Jr (b. 10/1949-outside Detroit, MI). He was the oldest of three (others are Dennis (adopted by Uncle Smith),James (adopted by Bingham)). His father was William Henry Sr (b. 10/1923 --Greensboro,NC) William "Jack" Sr. had a wife, Geraldine, and a brother named Vernon ALDRIDGE. Vernon is on the Vietnam Wall in DC. Their father's name was Bert ALDRIDGE (b. Greensboro, NC, between 1880-1910). This is as far as I have been able to get. The ones that might remember are dead. There is no family photo album or family bible (Father and grandfather never were big on pictures or religion :) ). I can't find any church records. Anybody got anything? July 25, 1998 |

ALDRIDGE in McMinn Co. TN and NC
I am researching the ALDRIDGES beginning with my grandmother Gurtie Louise ALDRIDGE (1906-1984). Her father was Christopher Columbus ALDRIDGE(?-?) and his father, I think, was Richard ALDRIDGE(?-?). Christopher ALDRIDGE was originally from NC. My gradmother was possibly born in Gastonia, NC or Swain County (not sure if they are the same). Not sure if Richard ever came to TN or not. Looking for any connection to John Wesley ALDRIDGE, of Fayette County, Alabama. He was my grandfather. His father may have been named Henry. Parents and Family of Ahaz COOK
Ahaz COOK born 19 Jul 1790, of Mendon, Ma. Mendon vitals state he died there 17 Aug 1840, son of Esaius (Esaias). Vitals show he married Mercy WALLING 18 Nov 1818 at Mendon. I cannot find which family he belongs to. Most people with name of Ahaz in and around Mendon are in the ALDRICH family. George ALDRICH b 1716 in Mendon had a son Ahaz who, along with two other children died the same month 1761. George's sister Lydia married an ALLEN. They named a son Ahaz and there were other Ahaz's in the family. George and Lydia were daughters of Moses ALDRICH, a Quaker Preacher born 1690. I wonder if the mother of my Ahaz COOK could be from the ALDRICH line. The only place I can find Ahaz COOK's father's name is as mentioned above and I can find nothing about his mother. Ahaz served in War of 1812 from Mendon and was given land in Illinois where he moved and married again. At one time he was in Far West, Missouri 1835/6. ALDRICH and COOK were common marriages I notice. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Paul Porter. May 23, 1998 |

Thomas ALDRIDGE and the MS ALDRIDGES
Am interested in tying the MS ALDRIDGE line to one of the existing lines from Maryland. Most indications are that Thomas (our earliest in MS) was born in MD in 1775, but as yet we have been unable to find the connection to the MD line. April 7, 1998 |

ARLEDGE/ALDRIDGE
My cousin (Mary Jane Arledge Murray) and I have been interested in our line that begins (like Clay Fulcher's) in England with Rev. Henry ALDRED, extends through Clement ALDRIDGE/ARLEDGE, immigrant to Virginia in the 17th century, William ARLEDGE of Northumberland County, Virginia in the 18th century, Isaac ARLEDGE of Fairfield County, South Carolina, Cyrus ARLEDGE of Limestone County, Alabama, and Cyrus's descendants who concentrated in Texas. We are especially interested in expanding the Bonham, Fannin County, Texas branches of Joseph Cyrus ARLEDGE and William ARLEDGE. If you have any ARLEDGES belonging to these branches, please get in touch with me so I can add them to my database! Check out these old photos (Bob's Archives) of some of our Texas ARLEDGES. Isham ALDRIDGE
My great grandfather was named Isham ALDRIDGE, b. 8/1886 in GA to Isham M. ALDRIDGE and wife Sophrona. His brother was Andrew J., born 9/1885 also in GA. They had 6 sisters: Nora, Alia, Mary, Flora, Sophronia, and Lou. I believe that the first Isham ALDRIDGE in my immediate family line was born 3/1858 in GA to Jesse ALDRIDGE, b. 1814(?) in either NC or SC and wife Jemima who are listed as living in Appling County, GA in the 1860 census. I am interested in gathering any information on this ALDRIDGE line. April 8, 1998 |

ALDRIDGE
I believe I am descended from the James ALDRIDGE Sr. who was born c. 1760 in VA? and died c. 1822 in Pike Co. KY. He married Rachel TREADWAY in Montgomery Co. VA in 1787. They moved to Cabell Co. VA and then to Floyd/Pike Co. KY. I believe I am descended from their son James Jr. who married Margaret ____ (possibly MUNCY) and then their son Francis M. ALDRIDGE, born 1809 in Cabell Co. VA. Francis married Nancy MUNCY in Lawrence Co. KY in 1832 and they moved to Lewis Co. KY by 1860. Their son Owen Riley ALDRIDGE, 1839-1912, married Eliza GARRETT and had a daughter Margaret Jane ALDRIDGE, 1870-1948, who married David Allen CASSIDY. April 5, 1998 |

Ky. and Clark Co. Ky. One of their sons was John Alvin b. Dec. 1839 m. Leuticia Jane WALLACE in 1857. One of their sons was Benjamin Franklin b. 2 Jun 1863 m. Mary Josephine MITCHELL in Henry Co. Ky. ARLEDGE/ALDRIDGE
I'm working on a history of the ARLEDGE family in America. Please see my Arledge Family History web page for many more details. I personally am descended through the Polk County, NC ARLEDGES (Amos to Jonathan to Greenberry to John Pinckney to John Aden to John Thomas to my mother Linda). Amos was the son of Isaac ARLEDGE of Fairfield Co, SC, who was the youngest son of William ALDRIDGE/ARLEDGE of Northumberland Co, VA, the son of Clement, the son of Clement... We believe the original Clement ALDRIDGE to have been the son of John ALDRIDGE of Worstead, Norfolk, England, who *may* have been the son of the Rev. Henry ALDRED. But much is left to be proved. If you have any ARLEDGES in your family tree, please get in touch with me so I can add them to my database. Thanks! April 5, 1998 |
